Are you a Defender of Children?

Yes, I will become a Defender of Children

Your commitment today will make sure children aren’t left behind.

Defenders of Children are a special group of caring and committed Canadians that join their monthly gifts with those of other believers across the country to provide a Christ-centered education to boys and girls living in poverty.

Defenders of Children are guided by their faith and inspired by God’s love for the children of this world. They want to shine their light and help others — especially now, when the world seems dark and uncertain.

Defenders of Children believe that it’s vital to help boys and girls reach their full potential and develop their God-given talents and skills. And they believe a pandemic shouldn’t take that away from them.

Due to COVID-19, many children are losing their chance to get an education.

Classes are cancelled. Parents lost the menial jobs they had. With no laptops and access to internet, continuing school online is impossible. Teachers are doing what they can, walking from home to home to distribute homework and check in with children.

But there simply isn’t enough income to sustain the schools.

But we aren’t giving up.

Knowing we can count on your support, we have pledged to continue paying all the teachers and social workers — local Christian men and women who are giving their life in service of the children they educate.

That’s why you’re needed.

A group of generous donors — a business owner from Edmonton, a farmer in Saskatchewan and a family from Winnipeg — have pledged to match every monthly commitment from Defenders of Children for the next year, up to a total of $70,000.

Please give now to save schools in Latin America from closing their doors — and make sure children won’t lose their only place in school.

Your gift of any amount joins with the gifts of caring and committed people of faith like you across Canada — Defenders of Children who believe every boy and girl deserves the chance to develop their God-given skills and talents.
